2 Ways Women Can Improve Their Finances

According to www.slate.com, "In 2010, women earned 77 cents for every dollar earned by a man."  Women on the other hand tend to be better at building relationships, so they should actually be able to negotiate their salaries better. The site money.usnews.com states that "According to the U.S. Census Bureau, women would need a 65 percent pay increase, on average, to catch up to men."

The Money Wise Women Blog is also a great resource. It is about sticking together and working together. It is well known that people who team up are much more successful. Creating a support network to talk about how others have overcome similar issues can make or break your financial future. Just remember to team up with women who are doing better financially than you. And don't judge a book by its cover. Typically, it can be challenging to distinguish those who are doing really well from those who aren't. For instance, most people driving brand new cars also tend to be the ones maxed out in debt.

So, my advice for women out there is to:
  • Improve negotiating skills
  • Find a supportive community
What do you ladies think?  What has helped you become successful at curbing finances in your favor?
