What Does the Bible Say About Financial Accountability?

My fellow blogger, Jay Peroni, talks about financial accountability at jayperoni.com.

This got me thinking, "What does the bible say about financial accountability?"  Growing up, my family learned that we were supposed to be independent and strong.  Strong meant that we should not depend on other people, that we should not ask for help.  However, is this the biblical way?  Didn't Jesus work with 12 disciples to spread his word?

Dave Ramsey suggests that single people have an accountability partner at www.daveramsey.com.  He probably suggests this because he knows that life unexpectedly adds some twists and turns and its great to have someone there when you might not have the emotional strength to focus on finances.

From Proverbs 12:15, we see "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise."  In all areas of life, it is wise to seek counsel.  The book titled The Go-Giver: A Little Story About a Powerful Business Idea by Bob Burg shares the concept that it is wise to seek a team who have a vested interest in your success.

Do you have anything to add about what the bible says?
