9 Truths About Wealth

At beginnersinvest.about.com, Joshua Kennon writes a great article which summarizes a lot about what we are missing in society today.

In order to change our current situation, we must first realize that it is our decisions that took us to our current situation.  Then, we must change some of the beliefs we have, since beliefs lead to action and actions lead to results.  Never have I seen such a great listing in one place regarding small changes that can make a huge difference.  Being a short read, you should finish the entire article quite easily.

Enjoy the read.  For convenience, the nine truths are summarized here:
  1. Change the Way You Think About Money
  2. Develop an Understanding of the Power of Small Amounts
  3. With Each Dollar You Save, You Are Buying Yourself Freedom
  4. You Are Responsible for Where You Are in Your Life
  5. Instead of Buying the Product... Buy the Stock!
  6. Study and Admire Success and Those Who Have Achieved It... Then Emulate It
  7. Realize that More Money is Not the Answer
  8. Unless Your Parents Were Wealthy, Don't Do What They Did
  9. Don't Worry

An amazing question to ask is, "Where would you be right now if instead of purchasing that latest IPod and I know you have five of them, how much better off would you be if you put that money into purchasing the stock as step 5 suggests?"
